Black Obsidian Medusa Skull

The story of Medusa, when it is told as a good versus evil tale and Medusa is the evil factor in the story, is actually quite sadly entertaining. That’s probably why it continues to be told that way. However, it is not acceptable for Medusa’s traumas to be dismissed for the sake of a good story. Although she is a fictional character, her struggles are very common amongst women. The tendency to pit women against each other for the sake of a man is, unfortunately real. If you don’t know the story of Medusa I encourage you to research it. 

When I seen a few of these carvings I was instantly attracted and I didn’t know why but I surely do now and I love the concept. Anybody who really knows me, knows of my long history of surviving abuse and defending those that have been abused. Medusa represents a dangerous threat meant to deter other dangerous threats, an image of evil to repel evil, personally I think she rocks.

Weighing 714 grams (3/4 of a kilo) and Shinning light onto the self, dishonesty, our shadows, the void, and offering transmutation, change, protection and vision. 

This Medusa is a stunning carving calling its human and waiting to offer the protection and self consciousness we all deserve.
